Katrina Relief Auction on Flickr

half-moon-over-glass-400px.jpg

As some of you know, a group on Flickr has organized an auction to benefit the Katrina Relief efforts. All donations will go to the American Red Cross to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast and my beloved New Orleans.

In the spirit of things, I have placed for auction a gallery quality pigment print of my photo, Half Moon Over Glass (shown above). Although it is listed as a 5 x 5 inch signed, framed print (matted in an 11x14 frame), I will give everyone here a choice. You can either have the framed print OR you can have a 7 x 7 unframed signed print -- your choice.

So far, the high bid is $65. I know it can do a lot better and I'd be thrilled to see it go to one of our members. Click here to bid on it. Deadline for bids is 11:59 pm on September 15. Another 7 x 7 signed gallery quality pigment print is also available through an auction organized by members of toycamera.com. You can bid on that here.

Also, John Perkinson from Orbit1 has a 10 x 15 metallic print of his photograph, Onward, for auction, too. I started the bidding at $40 and now it's up to $70. Anybody want to go higher on that, too?

Due to the overwhelming response, the organizers have stopped taking donations of photos for now. But if you're interested in donating a print to the relief auction, they will be taking requests again beginning September 16. Continue to check the Katrina Auction thread on Flickr for further details.

Your Day Job

I don't know what everyone does for a living, but if your team communicates by email - here's a great solution. I think. I just signed up and am experimenting with http://www.Basecamphq.com.

I'm trying to coordinate a very intense video shoot the middle of next week, and this may look like a great solution. If it works well, i probably will add it to my toolbelt.
