The Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College exhibit, Stages of Memory: The War In Vietnam, runs through December 17, 2005. Featured are photographs by Howard Henry Chen, Binh Danh, Anh-My Le, Dinh Q. Le, Johnny Miller and Liza Nguyen.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Then head over to the Chicago Historical Society, 1601 N. Clark St. as Sunday, December 4 is the last day to see some remarkable photographs by photojournalist Declan Haun. Entitled A Compassionate Eye: The Photographs of Declan Haun, 1961-69, the exhibit shows works from Haun's most productive years.

The 7x7ers Get Flak
From the shameless self-promotion department...
Couldn't make it to the 7x7 exhibit? Have no fear. Point your browsers to Flak Magazine, the online journal of art and media. They've just published a review of the exhibition and a virtual gallery of the work of its participants: Mitch Arsenie, Nick Campbell, Archie Florcruz, Nick Feder, Pablo Korona and Brian Milo. Oh. And me too.
While I may personally have a few quibbles with Ms. Scott's definition of photoblogging -- I see photoblogging in more expansive definition as being a virtual gallery showing the progression of one's photographic body of work over a period of time rather than being solely in the documentary style of its early years (if one calls the end of the last century and the beginning of this one early) -- I see her critique, IMHO, as fair, honest and generally positive. And the presentation of the exhibit and our work was immaculately done. But check it out and decide for yourself.

November Meetup @ Millennium Park

The next Chicago Photobloggers meetup/shootout will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 1 pm at Millennium Park. We'll meet in front of Anish Kapoor's 'Cloudgate', known to everyone else in the known universe as The Bean and go from there. Afterwards, we'll head down to one of the local establishments for drinks and noshes if everyone's so inclined.
