3x5: Five Chicago Area Photobloggers
3x5: Five Chicago Area Photobloggers, an exhibition featuring the work of Mitch Arsenie, Nick Campbell, Archie Florcruz, Pablo Korona and Bill Vaccaro, is currently on display through September 17, 2005 at Jinx Cafe, 1938 W. Division Street, Chicago.
A closing reception will be held at Jinx Cafe on Sunday, September 11 from 5 to 8 pm.

Gaper's Block featured artist
This month Gapers Block is featuring none other than the greyscalegorilla himself, Nick Campbell. The title of his exhibition is simply "Rolleicord Portraits." You might even recognize two of the subjects (awww).
"After months of architectural city shots, I grew slightly bored of photographing buildings. Posed and candid portraits became my new obsession."

Chicago Photobloggers @ Air & Water Show
The next Chicago Photobloggers meetup and shootout will be held Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 9 am at the Chicago Air and Water Show. We'll meet up at the Starbucks inside the lounge of the Westin Hotel at 909 N. Michigan Avenue right across from the John Hancock Center. Bring broad brimmed hats and plenty of sunblock -- not to mention your cameras. It's always a great street and people photography extravaganza -- oh, and the planes are interesting, too, as well!

Some Gear Talk
So lately I've been shooting with my first camera again - a Nikon FM which my dad gave me 15 years ago. I thought it might be interesting for people to talk about what gear/film/etc they are using lately, and what they like about it, and perhaps even link to some good examples.
The photo above is of my brother, on a fishing trip to Canada in 1992, taken with my FM. I wasn't paying attention to pile of filters becoming visable in the lens!

Gettin' Hitched
One of our own, Brian Milo, is marrying his sweetheart, Judi Nelson, today in Oregon, Illinois by the banks of the Rock River. We'd like to wish Milo and Judi all our best wishes as they begin the rest of their lives together.
Several of his fellow photobloggers will be attending the ceremony armed to the teeth (naturally enough) with weapons of mass image capturing. Expect a great series of the wedding and following celebration.
